Diagnostic Testing

Behavioral Health Diagnostic Services are evaluations that help identify a person’s emotional, behavioral, or mental health needs.

Types of Behavioral Health Testing may include:

  • Diagnostic Interviews – conversations with the client (and sometimes family) to gather history, concerns, and symptoms.

  • Behavioral Assessments – tools that look at patterns in mood, behavior, attention, or social interactions.

  • Psychological Testing – standardized tests that measure areas such as personality, emotional functioning, and coping skills.

  • Neuropsychological Testing – in-depth evaluation of thinking, memory, attention, and problem-solving skills.

  • Educational & Developmental Assessments – testing related to learning, school performance, and developmental milestones.

  • Substance Use Assessments – screening and evaluation of alcohol or drug use and related concerns.

These assessments help create a full picture of an individual’s strengths and challenges, guiding personalized treatment recommendations.

The goal is to provide a clear picture that guides treatment planning—whether that means counseling, therapy, or other supportive services. With an accurate diagnosis, individuals and families gain understanding, direction, and a path toward improved well-being.
